What is Blackjack Stand or Bust?

BlackJack Stand or Bust is a simple win/lose (or in this case stand/bust) game based on blackjack and whether the dealer will go bust or not.

How To Play Blackjack Stand or Bust

On entering the game you will need to choose your stake and then click "Deal", which will deal the 4 choices of dealer’s cards available to you. You can then shuffle if you wish (which will discard the choice of cards available to you and deal another 4 random cards), you can shuffle a maximum of 3 times at the start but you can win extra shuffles later for correct bets.

Once you have chosen your starting card you can select the "Stand" or "Bust" button next to one of the cards, which will place the stake on the dealer either Busting or Standing. You can see the Payout odds that you will receive above the Stand button and below the bust button.

The dealer’s other cards will then start to be dealt out until the total between 17 and 21 (in which case the dealer will stand) or until the total is over 21 (in which case the dealer would have bust)

Winning

If you guessed correctly then an extra shuffle bar is awarded to you. Four new cards are then dealt again and at this point you can choose to either bank all your winnings, bank half your winnings or continue playing with your winnings from the last round as your stake in the new round.

You can continue betting and guessing "Stand" or "Bust" on the subsequent set of cards and keep doing this until you lose or collect half / all your winnings.

The relevant rules of Blackjack that apply to this game are very simple as you are only concerned with the dealer’s cards (there are no other players). The normal blackjack rules apply for scoring, with cards scoring face value (e.g. a 5 is worth 5 points) except for aces, which can be either worth 1 or 11 (whichever one makes the total score equal 17-21 or the ace will be set to 1 if the total score would be over 21). All picture cards count as 10 points.

The game is played using six packs of cards – the 3 potential starting cards that were discarded at the start are shuffled back into the deck so these can be used again to make up the Dealer’s hand.

There are no 5-card-charlies (5 card tricks) in this game – the dealer will continue getting new cards until they end up with a score of 17 or more. This means that the dealer will end up with between 2 and 10 cards (maximum would be if they got 2,2,2,2,3,A,A,A,A,3).

You don’t win any extra money when the dealer gets blackjack. This pays the same as all the other scores that result in a stand.
