The Shanghai Darts Game
Three darts are thrown, at random, in each game. The aim of the game is to predict where the darts will land.
How to Play Shanghai Darts
Placing Bets
You can place up to five bets on each throw, using the menus on either side of the dartboard. For each bet, make your selection and press "Confirm Bet". This will add the bet to your betslip, which sits in the middle of the screen. To remove bets from the bet table, click on the "X" button to the left of the bet table next to the bet you wish to remove. Press Play to enter your bets and start the draw.
Please note that it is possible for the same number, or area of the dart board, to be hit more than once in the same game. The darts never hit the wire, or land outside the area of the dartboard.
The Bets
There are three different groups of bets that you can place on each game. Each group has a range of different bets available:
1. Bet on Numbers
In the Bet on Numbers section you predict which numbers on the board will be hit:
1-20 Singles
Select which single segments (1-20) the darts will land in. This does not include the double segments (the outer ring of the board) the treble segments (the inner ring of the board) or the bullseye segments (in the centre of the board).
To select your chosen section(s), click on the number(s) that are flashing around the edge of the board, then set your stake using the plus and minus arrows.
Singles
Here you can select how many of the darts will land in the "single" segments. These are highlighted in orange for you when you select "SINGLES" from the menu. Simply choose whether you think there will be 1,2,3 or no singles hit in the next throw, and then set your stake.
Doubles
Here you can select how many of the darts will land in the "double" segments. These are highlighted in orange for you when you select "DOUBLES" from the menu. Simply choose whether you think there will be 1,2,3 or no doubles hit in the next throw, and then set your stake.
Trebles
Here you can select how many of the darts will land in the "treble" segments. These are highlighted in orange for you when you select "TREBLES" from the menu. Simply choose whether you think there will be 1,2,3 or no trebles hit in the next throw, and then set your stake.
Outer Bull
In this bet you predict whether ANY of the three darts will land in the outer bull ring in the centre of the board. This area is highlighted in orange for you when you select "OUTER BULL" from the menu. To place an OUTER BULL bet, simply set your stake and if one or more of the darts thrown in the next throw hit the outer bull area, you win!
Bullseye
In this bet you predict whether ANY of the three darts will land in the inner bullseye area in the centre of the board. This area is highlighted in orange for you when you select "BULLSEYE" from the menu. To place a BULLSEYE bet, simply set your stake and if one or more of the darts thrown in the next throw hit the bullseye, you win!
2. Bet on Colours
Each area on the board is given a specific colour - black, white, red or green. With these bets you simply have to predict how many areas of a given colour are hit during a throw. Alternatively, you can bet on the three darts thrown each hitting a different colour. This is called a mixed bag - and you can bet on this by selecting MIXED BAG from the BET ON COLOURS section.
3. Bet on The Total
These bets give you the opportunity to bet on the actual, accumulated score of the three darts thrown.
With ODD/EVEN you can bet on whether the total will be odd or even. With LO/MID/HI you can bet on whether the score will be:
- "LO" (3-38 points)
- "MID" (39-41 points)
- "HI" (42-180 points)
With RANGES you can bet on the range of points scored:
- TOTAL 3 TO 5
- TOTAL 6 TO 12
- TOTAL 13 TO 25
- TOTAL 26 TO 45
- TOTAL 46 TO 100
- TOTAL 101 TO 180
With all these bets, make your selection, then set your stake using the plus and minus arrows.
Checking The Odds
The payout for each bet is shown in a light yellow area to the right of the bet option?s header.
Game On!
Once you have placed your bets and you are ready to play, click the large PLAY button beneath the betslip and the game will begin.
Three darts will be thrown randomly for each game. They can be thrown automatically, or if you want to release them yourself, set "Dart Release" to manual before pressing "Play".
After the darts land, winning bets are highlighted on the menus and the betslip. When playing again, you can repeat previous bets using the "R" buttons by each bet type.
Score Weightings
Shanghai Darts applies a random draw of three darts.
Each of the board areas is weighted, according to its size. These weightings dictate the chance of a particular throw. This means that a single is the most likely to be drawn, then a double, treble, outer bull and then the bullseye. In Shanghai Darts, the dartboard area weightings have been set as follows:
- Single: 74.44%
- Double: 14.89%
- Treble: 9.92%
- Outer: 0.50%
- Bullseye: 0.25%
