What is Heartbreak?

Heartbreak is a card game allowing players to bet on the turn of up to nine cards all drawn from a single 52 card pack. Bets can be made on the colour or suit of the cards and whether they will be higher or lower, and players can even select which card they wish to turn! A variety of bonuses along the way give generous payouts.

How To Play Heartbreak

The Heartbreak Game

Nine cards are dealt onto the table from a single pack and the centre card is face up. You select your stake, decide which bet to place and after confirming your bet, decide which card to turn. If you choose correctly then you can decide to collect your winnings or continue playing and put your winnings on the next card in order to build up to the bonus stages. As the cards are drawn from a single deck the probabilities of certain cards being drawn change throughout the game. For example, if you draw four aces then it's a sure thing that no more aces will appear! After all nine cards have been turned over the game finishes and your winnings will be automatically collected. You can collect after any winning card throughout the game.

Placing Bets

At the start of the game you must select your starting stake. Once selected you cannot alter the stake for the rest of that game as this will happen automatically. To raise and lower the stake value click the '+' and '-' buttons to the right of the stake box. When you are happy select a hi/lo bet and/or a colour/suit bet and press confirm bet. If you wish to change your bet before it has been confirmed just click on another bet in that group and the highlight will change. If you do not want to place a bet from that group then click the highlighted bet and it will deselect. Once the bet has been confirmed click on the card that you would like to turn over. If your bet wins then the previous bets will remain highlighted but you can change them before you continue betting. Or you can take your winnings away by pressing the 'collect' button and starting a new game. If your bet is not successful then press the 'New Game' button to start again. When you start each subsequent game the stake that you selected first of all will automatically be selected for your convenience, but you can change this.

The Bets

Hi/Lo

Hi/Lo bets will win if you correctly predict if the next card drawn is higher or lower than the highlighted card (as indicated by the red border). If the same value card is drawn again then neither bet will win.

Colour and Suit

Black/Red bets will win if the next card drawn is the same colour as the bet made. Similarly bets on the suit will win if the next card is of the same suit as the bet placed. It is not possible to bet Hi and Lo on the turn of one card or to bet on a suit and a colour, though it is possible to bet either hi/lo and on a suit/colour e.g. Hi and Spades.

Bonuses

• On successfully turning the 5th card you will receive a 10% bonus. This is 10% of your total returns for the bet and not 10% of your stake.
• If you turn over all cards you will receive a 25% bonus on the correct turn of the 9th card. This is calculated in the same way giving an extra 25% of the returns on top.
• Another bonus will double any winnings on the next card drawn after the 7 of hearts. E.g. After drawing the 7 of hearts you have a stake of £2 and stand to win £3.98 on a higher bet. If the next card drawn is higher then you will not only win £3.98 but that return will be doubled giving you £7.96! If the first card drawn in the pack is a 7 of hearts then there is no bonus, the bonus will only apply if you select a card to turn and it is the 7 of hearts.

Stats

At any time during the course of the game you can view the game statistics by clicking the 'stats' button in the header bar. This will tell you how many times each card has been drawn and how many times the card drawn has been higher and lower.

Disconnections

If, for whatever the reason, you are disconnected from the games server, you can log in to Ladbrokesgames.com, re-enter Heartbreak, and the game will resume where it previously left off.

NB! Cards will be randomly placed, and if disconnected after chosing a bet, a random card will be turned.
