Hangman is a general knowledge quiz based on the classic Hangman game. The objective of the game is to win cash prizes by correctly answering a series of general knowledge questions, to complete a mystery phrase. Each correct answer adds a letter to the phrase. Each completed phrase advances you along the award bar. The further you progress along the bar, the greater the prizes.
The questions in each game will become progressively more challenging as the award bar is advanced. You’ll need to be quick on the draw; a limit is placed on the time allowed to answer each question.
Begin the game by pressing PLAY. The stake is fixed at €1 or currency equivalent. First you must choose a clue. You have a choice of three clues that give a hint as to what the phrase might be. The value (in points) is shown on each.
Once you have selected a clue, the letter category screen is shown.
The complete phrase is shown blanked out and three letters below the phrase, each letter corresponding to a category.
The following standard question categories are offered:
Select a letter that you think may be in the phrase, One, two or all three of the letters may be in the phrase. You are then asked a question on the chosen category. You will be offered a multiple-choice question in your chosen category with 3 possible answers A, B or C.
If you answer correctly the chosen letter is placed in the relevant position in the mystery phrase. You will then be offered another three letters and the process is repeated until the phrase is complete.
Points and Prizes
Once the mystery phrase has been solved, you will be awarded points, which accumulate on a "Points Bar" leading to prizes. Awards can be won via the "Points Bar". The "Points Bar" will increment across the top of the screen scrolling from left to right and eventually reaching collectable cash values.
Once a cash value has been reached, you may collect, or continue playing on for further prizes. Current winnings are shown in red near the centre of the game screen.
If you choose a letter that isn’t part of the mystery phrase, a "limb" is added to the Hangman icon. Six incorrect letter choices will increment six "limbs" to the hangman, completing and lynching the hangman, which results in "Game Over".
An incorrectly answered question will also result in "Game Over" unless you have a "Try Again" available (represented by bullets in the top left of the game screen). Try again will let you try to answer the question again. The game begins with one "Try Again" already awarded and a maximum of up to 3 can be collected at any one time via the mystery "?" symbol round.
You must take care to answer the questions within the time limit represented by the timer bar at the bottom of the game window. If you fail to answer on time the game is over.If you fail to choose a clue or letter within the time limit one will be chosen at random for you.
Mystery symbol Options
Occasionally one of the letters on the letter category screen will be replaced by a "?" mystery symbol. If you select a mystery symbol, you are offered a skill choice on one of 12 outcomes:
Four of the above mystery options will be shown on the screen. They will then hide themselves and shuffle around the screen. Watch closely, you should try to pick the option most valuable to you, not all of them are good!
Bonus Rolling Jackpot
Certain Clues, Letters & Mystery Symbols randomly have a gold nugget attached to them. These contribute towards winning the Rolling Jackpot. This is a bonus prize that is awarded if you collect the number of gold nugget questions indicated. Beware! Whilst selecting a letter with a gold nugget attached will reduce the nuggets needed to win the jackpot the letter itself may not necessarily be part of the phrase. In this scenario you will lose a "Try Again" or maybe even the game if none are available. If the letter IS part of the phrase you will still be required to answer the subsequent question.
If you win the jackpot, you can still continue to play for further prizes. The rolling jackpot is never gambled, if won this is yours no matter what happens later in the game. The jackpot amount is shown in white next to the hangman icon.
You can collect your current winnings at the letter selection stage by pressing COLLECT in the top left of the game screen. When you win a prize you have the option to collect or continue. If you continue then you gamble your current normal winnings against potential bigger prizes further in the game. Upon collecting winnings will automatically be added to your account.
The game is over when you win €10 in normal prizes, collect any winnings, do not answer a question within the time limit, accumulate six limbs on the Hangman or select "Boot Hill" from the mystery symbols stage.
Real Play/Demo Play
Please note that for security reasons the Demo play version of Hangman only contains a limited selection of the questions found in Real Play. Additionally Demo play is designed to easily introduce you to the various features of the game. Therefore the difficulty of winning both jackpot and normal prizes may vary between Demo and Real Play.
